OrdinaryProduct × District 5

What's in the footage and what I'd make from it · 57 talking clips (37 min) · 138 FX30 clips (12 min) · 29 Sep

The short version

11 people on camera. Ali (the owner), someone from the brand who calls it “literally my baby”, his friend since age five, a friend with his own brand, customers from the very first bazaar, first-time buyers, and you.
The fire is one story. From bazaar tables to their third store. Four different people tell it without being asked the same question.
About half is junk. Names and ages, “show me”, people talking over each other, a few clips with no clear speech. That stays out.
The FX30 looks great. go 2 holds. Small fixes clip by clip (the store's lights run warm). 6 clips were shot turned, now fixed; 5 are unusable (whip blur, floor).

Who said what (gist, in English)

The reels I'd cut

By story, not by person: each reel is one idea, and whoever says it best carries it. Every reel opens on a face saying the hook, then your FX30 shots take over while they keep talking — the piece or the place shown as it's named. Your talking-edit cut (no pauses, sentences overlapping), captions in your interview style.

45–60 s
1 · From a bazaar table to District 5
The best story in the footage, told by the people who lived it.
  1. Hook on Marwan: “Ali and I have been friends since we were five.”
  2. The bazaars till 2 am → the first bazaar at Riverwalk, basic tees with a sticker → the first pop-up five years ago, no money
  3. “Now you see people wearing it everywhere” → “literally my baby” → the queue, the crowd
  4. Ali: “District 5 — and more branches to come.” End card.
30–40 s
2 · Everyone's favourite piece
Each piece shown the moment it's named.
  1. Youssef: the Not So Ordinary tee — “what made OP what it is”
  2. Marwan: “these polos are dangerous” → the tailored pants
  3. The golf-ball tee → the burgundy sweatshirts
  4. Youssef: “the best sweatpants in the world”
15–20 s
3 · District 5 just got Ordinary
The announcement, in their own voice.
  1. “We made cookies for everyone… District 5 just got Ordinary.”
  2. The OP IN D5 cookies, the queue, the sign
  3. Ali: “more branches to come.”
15–20 s
4 · Not So Ordinary Couple
The engagement design — a love story in one piece.
  1. On her: the hoodie was inspired by the engagement
  2. The couple pieces on the rail
  3. “The best thing in life is love.”
20–25 s
5 · In one word: Ordinary
What the brand stands for, from customers.
  1. Marwan: “one word — Ordinary, named after what it is”
  2. Abdallah: “not over the top — simple”
  3. “the quality” → the store
30–40 s
6 · For your page: we saw each other grow
Your own piece — optional.
  1. Your intro to camera
  2. Congratulating Ali in the store
  3. The store, the crowd

The FX30, graded

go 2 on every clip, then clip by clip: whites pulled back out of peach where the lights ran warm, half a stop up where it was dark, highlights rolled off on the lit sign. Left = go 2 alone, right = the fixed grade.

C0403 half a stop up · C0384 whites less peach · C0490 the lit sign rolled off

Some of the shots

The sign · the team out front · the store · the couple hoodie · the NSO crewneck · the golf tee · the queue · happy customers · the bags · the OP IN D5 cookies · the District 5 barrier

Store-opening reels (FX30 only)

1 · The store. Slow push-ins through the racks, the sign, “NOW OPEN · DISTRICT 5”. Calm and premium.
2 · Opening day. The queue, the crowd, bags, cookies, the team lined up out front. Energy.
3 · The details. Labels, prints, the OP IN D5 cookies, the sign. Tactile.
How. Slowed 2.5× from your 60p, lightly stabilized, type in their wordmark font (the same bold condensed as the sign).

The carousel

8–10 photos, 4:5. The sign, the team out front, the empty store, the NSO pieces, the couple hoodie, the golf tee, the cookies, the bags, the queue — sharpest frame of each.
Colour in code — no AI needed. Their website shoot is locked to a Kodak Portra look (muted, warmth pulled back, soft blacks, fine grain). I'd grade the stills to that, so the post matches their feed.
AI only for clean-up. A stray sign, a cable, half a person at the edge. I'll show you which frames need it and the credit cost first.

Your calls

Music for the reels: your pick, or should I choose royalty-free?
The Justino format: if you have a reel link, send it and I'll match it exactly.
Your own “we saw each other grow” piece: want it, or keep this job to their content?
